Swedish School

The Swedish School accepts students from kindergarten up to 18 years of age and offers instruction in the Swedish language and Swedish traditions. All lessons are conducted in Swedish and we meet once a week for approx. 1-1/2 hours.  The students must have some basic knowledge in Swedish to be able to participate. The students are divided into different groups according to age and previous knowledge of the Swedish language.  The lessons include reading, writing, oral exercises, geography, history and natural sciences of Sweden.  Nature and theme days, as well as art, music, literature, sports, etc. are also part of the curriculum.

The Swedish School’s organization follows the rules of the Swedish School Organization, ‘Skolverket’, which also supports us economically. ‘Skolverket’ requires that at least one parent is a Swedish citizen who predominantly speaks Swedish with the child.
